Pedlars Kit

Hi!

I've just started face-painting (spurred on by the 6-nations) at match days, and would like to know where I can get any kit to help me peddle :D. I've spent ages typing in all-sorts to try and find the carrier box thingy's (excuse my technical term lol) that I see so many pedlars using. I've practically started building my own stuff but it would be easier if I can get something ready made :?:

Good hit Mark!

I was looking on eBay for them but didn't know what they were called.

Doing a search for usherette shows a couple.

'Vendor tray' shows the same ones and a couple of others.

To be honest though, they don't look very well made, and most show a silly little ribbon that the wearer has around their neck.

Spend a day like that and six months in recovery for neck pain.

I was thinking something like a 'wicker tray' and then maybe use one of those wide multi-colour luggage straps that you can get for next to nothing.

You need to wear it around your shoulders, not around your neck.

I made one for my hand-crafted jewellery. I made it out of two picture frames from Wilkinson's.

I hinged them together so that they close and lock.

A nice big wicker tray though, light, durable, cheap, can't beat it.

Those luggage straps, you can sew them around the handles of the tray, leave the adjusting bit on then you can adjust the length of the strap.
giffgaff seem to be paying 'me' for using 'them' at the moment! Can't get much cheaper than that!

Thanks Mark, these look awesome, just see how they are on the wallet!

Ian - Thanks, I'm starting to become rather creative with everyday objects in order to assist me! I guess an occupational hazzard! Picture frames do offer endles opportunity for customisation! Using small photo frames to create a stencil frame and pallet for me paints!

And velcro tape...

Velcro tape is a must have for keeping everything from falling out and moving around :)

You'd be surprised what you can achieve with a bit of velcro.

After I'd hinged my picture frames together I used a couple of bits of velcro tape as straps to keep it closed.

I made my own, found that to be the easiest way for what I wanted.
