I haven't actually bought anything from them yet although I have created an account, and you have to figure out how to get the items from 'port' to your door, but ...

alibaba.com

is a famous Chinese website where you can buy lots of stuff in bulk for potentially really small money.

You will need to put in the homework though but the potential is big.

I'd probably look on eBay or Gumtree for a medium sized gas tank that you can get refilled/tested at a local gas filling place, probably somewhere on a local industrial site, rather than one of those small tanks that you get at ASDA.

I've heard that you can get small tanks of carbon dioxide for carbonizing drinks (for example), filled for as little as £7

A great setup would be to have two small gas tanks, when you empty the first one you start using the second one and it gives you loads of time to get the first one refilled.
giffgaff seem to be paying 'me' for using 'them' at the moment! Can't get much cheaper than that!
